Co-curricular Activities and additional experiences

I have been in the Photography club in Swiss Cottage Secondary school, which then merged to form the InfoComm Club, where I have had hands-on experience with various photography skills and techniques involved, such as dark room camera film printing in a joint Photography camp with National Junior College, and skills at using photoshop and flash to make animation and fix or improve images.

Now in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I joined the Computer Club to learn more about computers which have become a necessity in this globalised world, which would help me in my future job, no matter which sector I intend to enter into.

The reason I joined Computer Club is also due to interest. Gaming is a sport, it helps exercise the brain and keeps people thinking. Spending pastime on computer gaming as well as online social networking activities can help create a social network that can be relied on in times of need, and conversing with others is an activity that I enjoy, be it in real life or in the virtual world.

Autobiography and education

Since primary school, I've always indulged in gaming, getting addicted to gameplay in its various forms of complexity, strategy, the thought process, plot enjoyment and various interactions, both offline and online computer games. My parents were capable, they earned enough money that enabled me to have mostly what I wanted, and they chose to allow me to do what I want, to enjoy my childhood.

Then, sweet 16's over, I've since graduated from Swiss Cottage Secondary school and Jurong West primary school, with several certificates of distinction in Maths, a subject I was good in, such as getting bronze award in National Maths Olympiad in Sec 1 and 3 and Honorable Mention in Sec 2. Miscellaneous certificates are proof that I have once represented my school in the Inter-School Scrabble Championship 2006 and taken part in a creative writing competition, which were attempts to broaden my horizons. Unfortunately, I was only able to achieve an aggregate score of 15 for L1R5 and 12 for L1R4, but what has past is past, the important thing, is to work hard and turn this setback into a driving force that will push me to greater heights.

Currently, I am studying in Ngee Ann Polytechnic's school of business and accountancy, business studies. This course has equipped me with knowledge in the field of economics, accountancy, statistical analysis, service and IT management as well as marketing techniques. Naturally, I would hope to be able to put to practice what I have studied for, for skills are nothing if not put to use.

Introduction

Life has many ups and downs, it can be smooth-sailing and rough at times. I believe that in one's life, there are equal ups and downs. As one who have long been enjoying the life spent in comfort at the upbringing of my parents through their hard work, it is about time I begin to brace myself for the rough journey to scale greater heights ahead. Life is about trying to achieve greater heights, and pushing oneself to achieve greater heights will eventually lead to sweet returns, which I aim to achieve as one aspiring to be a marketing officer. Oh, I apologise. I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Chong Welon.
